Struggling to fit in CPD training time amongst a busy school timetable?

Training and good quality development should be available to all…

We hear you! And this is how WE can help your teachers and school.

Teachers, young and old, new and established should be given the time to develop; to share and to train in order to meet the needs of an evolving audience-the children!  These days the struggles are real more marking, changing curriculum, exams, assembly’s, PE…it’s all happening giving an ever increasing pressure on teachers.  So when is the time made for teachers to train and learn to help their own development? Ultimately it benefits themselves, the children and the school.

We should all be given the time to learn frequently and in a robust, supportive and challenging manner that provides regular development that leads somewhere useful for the individual especially in teaching.

So what is CPD anyway?

In simplest terms Continuing professional development (CPD) is the intentional maintenance and development of the knowledge and skills needed to perform in a professional context. This could mean honing current skills, it could mean developing them to a new level, or it could mean learning new ones that will allow a job role to expand or prepare for new roles.

CPD obligations are present in most professions. Most companies and organisations now prioritise them because they ensure a constantly developing workforce. At Kalma Life it’s one of our top priorities in training and when working with schools. Lots of teachers are required to undertake CPD training every year…that’s where our children’s yoga classes in your school can help! Every session we do counts towards a teachers CPD.

A Structured session can help a teacher within their current role and progression to future ones. It’s also the case for those working in health care! Employees in regulated industries can lose their license to operate if they don’t maintain their CPD.  What’s learnt by children and teachers inside of our yoga and mindfulness sessions can be taken away and applied to roles and classroom practice each day-what better way to learn than by being involved. No boring text book or classroom based activity!

Our CPD activities range from the educational yoga and mindfulness activities such as instructor-led classes to our wonderful mindfulness workshops! For more information on yoga and mindfulness in schools check out our blog.
