Child safety week runs from 4th to 10th of June 2018, and we at Kalma Life understand the importance of this in our childrens yoga classes. We make childrens yoga safety our number one PRIORITY!

Child Safety Week is ran by Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented. They provide a range of resources to help practitioners run local activities and events and promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.

For parents it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the demands that come with family life and keeping children safe can feel very challenging.  When you book your child to a activity you should feel that the all the necessary precautions and assessments and training has been completed and your child is in safe hands, Right?

For many practitioners the reality is that there are fewer staff and less resource than ever, so child safety can seem a challenge to effectively address.  Not at Kalma Life!  We get child safety and the importance that is why all our teachers are trained to the highest of standards and our training policies and procedures vetted by outside accreditors to ensure we deliver a safe and high quality activity to children.

Together we HAVE got this!

Here at Kalma Life all our classes are done in a safe and stimulating environment and we make childrens yoga safety top of the agenda.  Our priority is our children’s safety and that is why our yoga inspired stretches are kept age specific inside of classes and done in an controlled environment.  We provide parents with demonstrations of how to conduct the stretches safely and confidently with their little ones.  Risk assessments are done for each venue and also for parents and children’s with any additional needs or health issues.  This ensures that we adapt all stretches inside the classes so that our children get the most benefits from the classes.  We realise the fine line between letting children build confidence and body awareness but also reducing risks to things that cause an accident, that’s why our teachers follow structured lesson plans which also incorporating age appropriate props.

One of our most important values is knowing that our parents feel safe with their children inside of our classes with our teachers.  When you attend a Kalma Baby, Toddler or Junior yoga class know that your in safe hands!
