The Story of Kalma Life
Yoga is where it began…
Kalma Life has been founded upon our own personal journeys with yoga. Every teacher within our business has been touched by yoga or has a genuine love for wellness. Our tea has a wealth of experience and knowledge from mental health nurses, to teachers to yoga teachers.
All of our teachers bring with it their own experiences and knowledge and this is what makes us so different from other yoga company’s. Over the last 11 years since we started Kalma Life we have evolved with the forever changing economy and world around us to be able to provide the support and nourishment to our future generations!
When you nourish the soul you bloom…
We believe that the key to happiness is taking care of yourself. Feeling good about yourself helps you to positively impact on others and in your own life!
Welcome to Kalma Life…
The Kalma business launched in 2014. What started as a lifestyle yoga business in south tyneside has now blossomed into a UK wide yoga business providing classes for kids. We are lucky enough to all get time to spend with our kids but also give us all something which we can give back to our own community which gives us a very special purpose.
Wellness even just a few years back didn’t have a focus as much as it does today. People are fast becoming more aware now of the benefits yoga and mindfulness and want to help future proof their children wellbeing.
Our Journey so far…
We have spent what feels like a whirlwind few years going from strength to strength, launching our own franchise model in 2016! Our brand has evolved to such a high standard and we are so very proud of it.
As members of the Children’s Activities Association and The IICT it brings great peace of mind to those who use our services and our team that we continue to set the standards and raise the bar within our industry.
Our franchise network has grown nationally, we launched the new training programs Kalma Minds for teens, Yoga for autism and Kalma Mamas our pre and postnatal relaxation classes. We scooped two national awards in 2018, 2019, 2020 and most recently 2021 Most loved baby activity and Most loved sport and physical activity.
We feel compelled to keep raising the standards in children’s yoga and spreading the word of the incredible benefits yoga brings with it to our children. We firmly believe Yoga and Mindfulness should be a compulsory part of each child’s learning growing up so we can help a child create strong foundation of resilient caring and unique children.
Its more than our Job
For us family is everything. Being able to earn a living where we can still raise our own children has been a blessing. Our children make us so proud every day, they also gave us many inspirational moments! We are so lucky as yoga teachers to have be able to pass all our teachings to our kids and just to be able to drop off and pick them up from school has meant we have never missed out.
Our Kalma family are incredible. We adore our mentoring roles and all of the team each have their own passions, ambitions and stories. The one thing we have in common is we want to make that difference in the lives of whom we meet, teaching makes us smile everyday and this NEVER feels like a job!
We are privileged to be on many yoga and business journeys with parents, children and franchisees its truly the best job ever.
